Sangre

Sangre, as you probably know, is blood. It is the noun form.

The verb is sangrar, to bleed.

Bleeding, the gerund, is sangrando.

And the adjective bloody is sangriento.

Adivinar

Adivinar means to guess. Conjetura is a conjecture. And suponer is to suppose.

Mueble

A mueblería is a furniture store. 

Afición

Here’s a word a saw the other day, afición. I had never seen or heard it before so I was curious.

Afición is liking or affection. Afecto is another word for this.

Derecho, derecha

When giving directions to someone, derecha is right and derecho is straight.

When talking about personal or legal rights, derechos is the correct word.

Rincón

Did you know there are different names for the inside and outside of a corner?

The outside of a corner is called la esquina.

The inside of a corner is called el rincón. We have several restaurants here in town that have the word rincón in there name.
