I am talking about the noun dado, not the past participle of dar nor the adjective, meaning a given item. Dado as a noun is a “catch all” word. It is used for many small items. Most notably dice.

Dado is the word used for sockets, as in ratchet and socket. I don’t know what the ratchet is called though.
