To me the word rumbo has always sounded fun and exciting, a game or a dance or something like that.

But alas, it is not.

Rumbo is a direction. It can also be a path that you try to follow. Not all that exciting but still a fun word.

Until looking it up in the dictionary, I would have said that rumbo was more an area. Often used to mean neighborhood or area of expertise. That is how I often have seen or heard its use. I gather those are more idiomatic uses of the word.
